Description
This wine is a biodynamic single vineyard Pinot Noir sourced from 100-year-old vines. It originates from a small hamlet with just over 300 inhabitants located roughly equidistant between two notable wine regions. The village is situated two kilometers from a river and is surrounded by a large natural amphitheater of vines. It is one of the most northerly AOCs in the country to cultivate red grapes and like its neighboring wine villages the wines from this area are rarely found in the export market. The vineyards interspersed with cherry orchards are planted on slopes of Kimmeridgian limestone mixed with red clays. These highly mineral soils combined with the extreme northern location contribute to the wine’s incredible energy brightness and a tangy chiselled minerality.
